semi-finals was won by Magnus Holmberg against Mattias Rahm, and Torvar Mirsky
against Mathieu Richard. That means both Rahm and Richard have to take three
straight wins each to get a spot in the Final in Match Cup Sweden 2008.

A new sailing
star is born. Anna Kjellberg shined just like the hot sun in Marstrand when she
surprised everyone and sailed right into the world’s sailing elite. The
GKSS-sailor had never entered a tour event before and sailed all the way to the
finals in Match Cup Sweden.
The world’s number one, French Claire Leroy, was clearly beaten by Anna in of
the races but finally won with 3-1.

 The gold in

went to French sailing star Claire Leroy. But the victory did not come easy. Young
uprising GKSS-sailor Anna Kjellberg really showed skill and spirit in the
Finals today.

The third
and settling match for bronze medal in Match Cup Sweden was won by Linda Rahm,
Gothenburg Royal Yachting Club, in sunny Marstrand on Saturday afternoon. The
team work was tight on Rahm’s boat and they caught the lead all ready on the
first upwind.

During the second rounds in the Match Cup Swedens Women’s Class, Anna Kjellberg won a comfortable victory against Claire Leroy. Meanwhile, Linda Rahm managed to win over Jenny Axhede in an even race.

French Claire Leroy defeated Anna Kjellberg in the first flight of Match Cup Sweden’s Women’s Final. At the same time Jenny Axhede took initial control over the match for the third position.

 24 years old rookie Anna
Kjellberg from Gothenburg is the first debutant ever in Match Cup Sweden
to catch a spot in the final. It took four matches in the semi finals against
Jenny Axhede, unbeaten in the Round-Robin, to secure the victory.
