Fantastic racing conditions allowed the organizers of Match Cup Sweden, Stage 5 of the World Match Racing Tour, to complete the repechage round which saw Johnie Berntsson (SWE) Berntsson Sailing Team and Sebastien Col (FRA) French Match Racing Team/K-Challenge emerge as the final two skippers that will join Mathieu Richard (FRA) French Match Racing Team, Peter Gilmour (AUS) YANMAR Racing, Torvar Mirsky (AUS) Mirsky Racing Team, Damien Iehl (FRA) French Match Racing Team, Magnus Holmberg (SWE) Victory Challenge and Philippe Presti (FRA) French Match Racing Team in the Quarterfinal Round, scheduled for tomorrow.

The last flight in the Repechage was very exciting with lots of duels. The fight between Rahm and Wibroe had a lot of drama and both teams were shouting at each other and the umpires. But after a while Wibroe ended the drama and extended his lead to Rahm and won.

The first race between Minoprio and Berntsson had it all! Berntsson made a false start and got a penalty. Although,  Berntsson somehow managed to get back and past Minoprio only to get another penalty. Berntsson got way behind and then it was Minoprio’s turn to get a penalty and Berntsson won.

Minoprio had a good start and was able to gain a little lead on Peter Wibroe. Then both skippers choose different paths and Minoprio was most successful and won.

Bruni had no chance of winning against the defending Match Cup Sweden champion Mattias Rahm who made some great spinnaker settings and won.
