This morning the wind was steady with 3 m/s and the sun was shining. The women started their first races in this year’s Match Cup Sweden.
The first match was between Lucy MacGregor and Nicky Souter. Souter got a good start but MacGregor answered and the race was very even with both sailors splitting the lead off and on. But in the end Souter took her first win ever in MCS.

Day Two of Match Cup Sweden, stage 5 of the World Match Racing Tour saw more beautiful weather, more spectators and of course more great match racing. Marstrand turned on the weather and entertainment for spectators and sailors alike. With interactive games, boat trips and numerous hospitality stands it was easy to get distracted from the on-water action. But one look out on to Marstrand Fijord and the calibre of world class sailors easily reminded you there is some top class sailing happening.

The eleventh flight served the audience with something special.
In the first race Damien Iehl won over Adam Minoprio. It was an even race but in the last leg Iehl was able to stretch out and win.

Mattias Rahm and his red dressed team have had a very successful afternoon. Rahm grabbed his third straight win against his countryman Björn Hansen. Hansen was given early penalty and Rahm won comfortably.
David Gilmour showed great tactical skills at the starting line. Iehl on the other hand got a bad start from which he never recovered.

The first match in this flight was between Peter Gilmour and Mattias Rahm. Early in the match Gilmour got the red penalty flag and took his penalty right away. Rahm took that advantage all the way over the finish line.
The second match was Björn Hansen against Damien Iehl. Even though Hansen did a great job just before the start Iehl was able to win.

Peter Gilmour continued to impress the spectators on the sunny cliffs of Marstrand when he won his third race for the day.
The Australian skipper was at first given tough competition from Sébastien Col but had control over the race from start to finish.

The sailors in flight seven had some good wind which made the races exciting for the outcome of this Round Robin.
In the first match Minoprio suffered another loss, this time against the newly awarded hall of famer Peter Gilmour.

Todays second flight also lacked some wind but the sailors waited patiently for the breeze to kick in and when it did they showed some great sailing.
The first match was Torvar Mirsky against Peter Gilmour. The race was
close with tight battles and probably the most exciting match so far in
Match Cup Sweden. In the end Peter Gilmour stood as the winner.
