hallin_litenBjörn Hallin explains why they recently decided to continue their relationship with Match Cup Sweden and what made the greatest impression on the 200 Castellum guests brought to Marstrand in 2007.


You have decided to continue as a sponsor in Match Cup Sweden 2008. Why?   We have been a partner since 1997 and believe this is a good way of handling sponsor money. Sailing is a natural activity for a Gothenburg based company, and we are interested in sailing in the company. It is also one way of supporting GKSS and the development of sailors on all levels. Furthermore, our clients enjoy this activity.
 
What makes Match Cup Sweden so attractive?

The Marstrand arena is simply fantastic and one of the few places in the world where you can follow the races so close – it’s spectacular. Events on the west coast suit us, since this is where our clients are.
 
Why is the event good for your marketing?

We invite new guests every day and after increasing our involvement this year we had about 200 guests during the event. Furthermore, we take the guests out on the water in our charter boat. We watch sailing and talk business, eat great VIP lunches and dinners and enjoy incredible lodging. It’s a great concept.

Is the combination of sports and business important?

Sport is a door opener; I think that you get a closer relation the other people through sports. It’s a nice way to spend time with others and to meet new people – sailing becomes a natural topic. Our clients remind us of this event all year round. In the spring, when the event approaches, they begin talking about coming to Marstrand again.
 
What have you gained from being a sponsor?

The name Castellum would not have been as well known if we had not participated, I am totally convinced of that. Our logo is on one of the boats, which means that we are seen on TV and in other media. We are completely convinced that this has been very good in commercial terms for the company. We are able to reach our target groups, both internally and externally, and to strengthen our relations.
