Flight 6: Advantage France in the Finals PDF Utskrift E-post
French Claire Leroy defeated Anna Kjellberg in the first flight of Match Cup Sweden’s Women’s Final. At the same time Jenny Axhede took initial control over the match for the third position.

The start was even and initially Claire Leroy had the advantage. But Anna Kjellberg managed to slip out of Leroy’s grip. Unfortunately for Anna, she received a penalty during the start since she crossed the starting line too early. The penalties settled this race. Leroy sailed very well during the first upwind leg and created a gap between the boats. The rest of the match was controlled by the French crew while the Swedes seemed to try out different routes for the upcoming races. Claire Leroy now needs two more wins to secure the first position in Match Cup Sweden’s Women´s Class. Simultaneously, the Swedes Linda Rahm and Jenny Axhede sailed the match for third and fourth position. It was an even start. Linda Rahm got a penalty during the start but sailed well and had a comforting lead over Jenny. While taking the penalty, the boats collided and Linda Rahm received yet another penalty. During the last downwind leg, Linda had no possibility to spin 360 degrees and still keep up with Jenny. Jenny Axhede won the first round of this match. She now needs one more win to secure the third position
