Torvar Mirsky – Mathieu Richard 3-2

Magnus Holmberg didn’t make it this year either. Losing in the semi-finals 2-3 to Mattias Rahm, his colleague and co-skipper in the America’s Cup boat, Victory Challenge, he won’t be able to win Match Cup Sweden, the race he once founded 14 years ago.

Mattias Rahm and his crew sailed well, made their tacks and spinnaker settings perfect and seemed to have somewhat better tactics to find wind than Holmbergs team.

In the other semi-final youngest attendant ever, Australian Torvar Mirsky, put the pressure on former world champion Mathieu Richard, and won a clear victory, 3-2

 - I had not expected to go this far in the race, the competition was extremely hard. I am not even sure I can refocus, but we will try to sail well without mistakes, said Torvar Mirsky, who sailed in Sweden for this first time last year.
