In the opening rounds of repecharge races Swedish teams scored in two out of three possible races. Both Mattias Rahm and Johnie Berntsson were applauded when they passed the finishing line as winners in their respective races.  Rahm beat Adam Minoprio, who so far has had problems with finding the right speed out on the course. Johnie Berntsson was never really threatened by Sébastien Col, and mastered the race to a safe victory.

The world champion of match racing, Ian Williams, got the better hand on Björn Hansen who was behind Williams at the first spinnaker setting. Hansen was also given a penalty early in the race, and lost. 

The young Danish skipper, Peter Wibroe, performed very well in his race against Francesco Bruni and passed the finishing line well ahead of his opponent.
